How many political show trials have you been a part of? I agree…
…that in a typical criminal trial where prosecutor, judge and jury don’t know the defendant and have no personal vested interest in the verdict, one can typically rely on a desire for justice prevailing. Certainly, the political leanings of the participants would not come into play.
That’s not what we have in the Trump show trials. The prosecutors, judges and juries all have a preconceived opinion and personal knowledge of the defendant AND a personal vested interest in the verdict that not only exists, but all lean the same way.
No typical criminal trial would be allowed to proceed under such circumstances. In fact, it would be impossible to find a judge who wouldn’t need to recuse or to seat a jury. At an absolute minimum, the Biden DoJ should have the sense to change the venue of this DC trial so that it might have a modicum of legitimacy, but legitimacy isn’t what they’re after.
These Trump cases are all being tried in deep blue jurisdictions because they are manifestly rigged show trials. Your experience in typical criminal cases is inapplicable.
