Yeah, that’s how I see it too. Except to add that while Israel is
Justified in continuing the war if the truce stops, there may wind up being individual instances where Israel is seen as not so justified. That’s part of their dilemma. They may well find themselves in a world of defending specific individual strike decisions, showing evidence of how many innocents they expected to die vs the military benefit of striking the terrorists and their infrastructure hiding behind those innocents.
Imagine trying to make that excruciating case before the world, where they show they knew of the innocents they’d be targeting. That would be a “war crime” all by itself - to many. And the cold hard truth here is, Israel needs to be concerned about the pr war as much as any other aspect of this.
