It started with covid, but it also is due to the


huge advantages rich kids have when it comes to test prep, and even more importantly the sanctioned cheating that is known as “extra time accommodations” which go massively disproportionately to kids in wealthy school districts.

I’m a believer in tests too, but you can’t have a “standardized test” which in large part tests speed of processing and then give different kids a different amount of time to complete the test. So either standardize it or get rid of it. Hell, standardize it by giving everyone extra time for all I care, but everyone needs to be tested under the same rules.
