Don't see that happening with Putin in power. Unfortunately the quickest

"de-escalation" is probably fall of Ukraine's current government. With Russia maintaining a puppet government that can only exert it's power around the major urban centers and guerrilla resistance elsewhere. As long as there is hot war going on, things could go bad really quickly.
