But the great playoff games came after the riff raff had been discarded.

I question whether teams like NC State under Valvano or when the Giants were a wild card team but won the super bowl were deserving champs. Actually I don't question that. I am sure they were not. No .500 team should be able to get hot at the end of the year and win a championship. They should never get that opportunity.
