There's an achievement gap, not a pay gap. To be fair,
and I should have referenced this point in my post to WahooMatt above, I do believe there is an "old boy network" impact on women's achievement (although I think it's much less of a factor than it used to be as more women have risen to senior positions and as companies take executive diversity more seriously). But I think the bigger impact is from women who self select out of the fast track career path in order to start a family.
There are also other factors such as the fact that 1/3 of CEOs are engineers yet only 20% of engineering students are women.
