TBF we shouldn't act like there is no gap or that everything is happy
shiny equality either. There is certainly some truth to the old boy network, the way boys and girls are raised, and the reality that humans tend to hire those more like them. Given the majority of those are still of the old, white, male variety, it stands to reason the doors aren't equally open to women that are willing to do the same work and take on the same sacrifices. Minorities obviously face those same challenges as well. Let's not pretend that the disproportionate number of white men in top positions is solely due to their being willing to work harder and make more sacrifices in lifestyle.
