I guess my thought is that earthquakes seem to be a

environmental effect of human activity that is primarily, if not exclusively, negative to other things that humans do/build.

I could be wrong, but I don't know of any negative effects of earthquakes on plants, animals, atmosphere, water etc.

If we release tons of greenhouse gasses or destroy the ozone layer or melt all the polar ice, that changes the planet in a way that could significantly impact tons of non-human life on the plant.

If we humans make Oklahoma a place that has hundreds more small earthquakes every year, that would only seem to really cause problems for us humans and our sandcastles.

Kinda like the ultimate FU of humans to other humans without negative externalities outside our species, unlike many other environmental damage that we are concerned about from human activity.
