I must say I am not following RML's logic on this.

If anything my gut reaction when I first saw this was the opposite of his. It is one thing to imagine the direct impact of gases being expelled into the atmosphere. The notion that we are drilling so much, that we have turned a state that rarely had earthquakes into the most earthquake prone state in the country, I find mind boggling.

His distinction escapes me - do we not see extremely far reaching effects, at least potentially, by changing the stability of the ground beneath our feat? Continents tend to be reshaped by things like earthquakes.

I find it sort of chilling, maybe just because I prefer to think of terra firma as something I can count on!
