Ummm, yes
what a cop out. I am pretty sure that is not a solid defense for violating OPSEC. Heres the difference:
Private email bounces the email off of the servers on its route, yiu merely need to hack servers where the email bounces to intercept it. Private email relies on a private name server to redirect traffic from their IP to the domain name. Hack theprivate name server and you can redirect emails to yourself before they even get there, then pass them back through a few mins later and no ones the wiser.
Gov email bounces around through .GOV which are considerably harder to get into. Not too mention using SIPR or NIPR that use encryption and a closed loop network. The Nameserver is hosted by GOV. It is miles more secure than a private name server company. Not to mention the levels of security you would need to break just to get into the State depts email server are way harder than some private standalone server and would raise eyebrows throughout the entire intrusion. A hack of her private server would have gone undetected, with 1 IT guy monitoring it sometimes.
Yes, pretty big difference in the levels of security before you even talk about her servers ports and security holes. It is not a legitimate defense to say other gov comps were hacked. It is a BS line by someone trying to sound like what they did is not as bad as it looks, to fools who know nothing about security.
The problem with Hillary's server is that we will never know just how many people accessed her server nor how many intercepted the emails outside of her terrible system, but it should be assumed that it was spilled. It is exactly why you do not send classified intel over the internet unencrypted. People are sitting, occupying servers and recording all that flows through with the hope that someone as powerful and important is dumb enough to bypass security protocol and just hand them intel worthy of sale or trade.
But to get back to your initial question. Yes I am sure there are some that have not been hacked, as some are not even connected to the internet per se. But those that did gov comps were skilled and usually were stopped mid action by the GOV IT. You do not need to overwhelmingly skilled to break into a standalone email server. So the question is pointless and does nothing for those that ask it, except confirm their ignorance on the matter.
As to you second question, yes it does not follow his MO. But it is also possible, if not likely, that hed held on to some sensitive stuff for later blackmail or for use as a plea. Why would you release everything you took? From what I have seen he has sent pieces of communication, leaving out entire pages to pick up later in the convo. How do you know he doesnt have those communications in between those released? Logic would dictate that he had access to take those others, why do you assume he didn't?
