I do not. I have met the young man in that story about the VA school

several times, and it took about 30 seconds for me to realize he was a boy in every way but one. And now was on hormone therapy to make him even more so. Then to wonder, how would I want it handled if he were my kid, and would my son or daughter be most uncomfortable with him in the bathroom with them. The answer quickly seemed like a no brainer to me. Just as it would be down the road if I saw him walking into a bathroom at WalMart. And that the way they actually ruled, would only create the "scary" scenario they all feared - forcing him to be in the bathroom with their daughters.

But as a true "conservative" (sorry Ted, you ain't one), I don't see why I should care where he goes to pee since it doesn't impact me or my rights. So why would I think I should insert myself, or the gov't insert itself, in that decision? That's what I always thought "conservative" meant, silly me.

BTW, FWIW, in that case, the school and county administration allowed him to use the boys room at the beginning of school. And most of the students didn't give a hoot because they didn't care (even those that knew him as a "girl" his freshman year) or wouldn't have any reason to know. It only became an issue when the parents found out and began expressing their "outrage" over Facebook, etc. and forced the school board to make a ruling. Sadly the school board caved to the fear and threats of ousting from power in the future from the majority opinion, despite the stupid results it would bring, and the fact that the Feds have already spoken loud and clear (via the Dept of Ed, Office of Civil Rights, etc.) on how this issue is to be resolved, and what the consequences would be if you go with the genitalia bathroom approach. A dumb and eventually costly decision for my county going forward IMO.
