Umm, no, that's not even close to what I'm saying. To begin with, I have no

idea how the Charlotte law was written, but I assume that it would at minimum apply the transgender standard to those receiving this exception, which would include the diagnosis by a psychiatrist and having begun the process (transgender is not just saying you"feel like" or "identify as" the opposite gender, as the fear mongers want you to believe), if not more specific. The NC law (and the school board policy here in VA) which overrode and prohibited Charlotte and other areas from passing such laws (and much worse, it also did not allow Charlotte from prohibiting firing somebody for being gay, for example) would not require such transgender distinction or definition since they only allow bathroom usage based on birth genitalia (as if someone is going to check). In addition I would certainly not classify them with a denigrating term like "mentally ill" as if they're psychotic or something, just because it involved a psychiatric diagnosis. You might want to reconsider using that term in the future (just a suggestion)

"Cause harm and duress to the rest of the population". Seriously? WADR that's hogwash and more fear mongering. I would suggest you look at that young man without a penis in the thread below about the school here in VA. I have had a son and a daughter at that school. Those fighting against this would put that young man in the bathroom with my daughter. My son wouldn't have any reason to even bat an eye when he entered, is no more likely to be desired by him than any other male that walks in the restroom, and not to mention he doesn't have the equipment to do anything. So why exactly do you want to cause my daughter "harm and duress" by forcing him, and his male urges, to use the ladies room again? So to claim my son would be the one under "harm and duress" is absurd. And that's not changed whether there is one or one hundred in the school, so the % of the population they make up is irrelevant.

The only question in these laws and rulings is if that person chooses to use a public restroom, which one would they be allowed to use. (the school already had single unisex bathrooms available, but like the handicap and "coloreds", you can't force someone to use a "special" bathroom) I like to use the WalMart standard - if he walked into the bathroom at WalMart, which one would make me even look twice. These laws and rulings would force him to use the ladies room, where everyone in there looks at him twice, while coming to terms with their own harm and duress.

BTW, the school ruling here in VA only pertained to the bathroom, as does the law in NC as I understand it. Showers/Locker rooms are a whole different standard because by their nature they involve removing clothes in a public area, particularly at the HS level where it is required, not a choice. And I think that's a big mistake on the part of the LGBTQ activists because they have tried to push this to the locker room level (beyond the private changing area already available) in Indiana or Missouri iirc. I think that's a mistake on their part and don't think that will help their cause in the long run, because it will only lead to even more pushback on the bathroom issue IMO.
