I agree with you about showers/locker rooms, because it involves disrobing and thus the impact on others. And I already said I think that's a big mistake for the LBGT advocates to try and push it to that level as they have already tried. That will only lead to even more pushback, and probably a setback to their "cause" IMO.

BTW, FWIW, most schools, including this one in VA, already have privacy stalls in the locker room for some kid to use even if they just feel "awkward". The VHSL and most around the country have already ruled you have to compete as the gender you were born as for competitive reasons, so practice/games is not an issue. And most schools don't even have the water on in locker rooms for the showers to even be used anymore. (I know, disgusting, especially after practice, but it's been that way for a while) But you still have changing into gym clothes going on, so I don't think requiring them to use a private stall is an "undue burden" there, because it does impact others in the locker room if they don't.

It's a little trickier at the private club/YMCA/etc. level because you are there by choice, not required as you are with going to HS. My guess is that eventually, if they don't already, will be required to have private stalls available. Unfortunately that means Govco involvement and mandated cost on the business, but I suspect that will be the ultimate outcome. Just like you had to make handicap facilities available.
