And I don't think "captains of industry" are social issues voters. The GOP


has managed to stitch evangelicals and "captains of industry" aka "job creators" aka "crony capitalists" into the same party.

A GOP candidate that came out in favor of gay marriage or abortion or whatever would not change the vote of the vast majority of business owners. Now if they were to start talking about carbon taxes or EPA regulations or something along those lines they sure would.

Conversely, the only social conservatives that care about the EPA are the automatons that deny climate change and those that have bought into Gov't bad, Gov't regulation bad sort of thinking.
