I don't have time to go through that whole screed, but can tell you

that he doesn't seem to know jack shit about the parts that helped regular consumers. Title XIV of the DFA rewrote the book on mortgages and made them safer, and his comments about the CFPB could not be more uniformed or off base. He seems to struggle distinguishing between a bill passed in the House that has gone nowhere and actual amendments to the law and he deserves to be slapped for arguing that Obama's decision to put Rich Cordray in charge of the CFPB instead of Elizabeth Warren somehow undermined the new agency. Rich is smarter and more effective than Warren was in that role, and has a lot more credibility than she does to boot...not to mention the agency has been the most aggressive rulemaking and law enforcement agency to ever touch consumer finance and everyone in the industry is scared shitless of them.

That was the first few paragraphs. I stopped reading after that.

On the capitalization side, the law has been very effective as nyhoo notes above. The securities side is what I know the least about but they have managed to regulate OTC derivatives and that alone is a major accomplishment.

Usually Taibbi's line is to whine that no bankers went to jail, tool that he is.
