The jury is out on both of these things, and that is being generous to PPACA which looks like a total debacle so far. And its passage per se was certainly no achievement: a clusterfuck process jammed through a partisan Congress that received not one single Republican vote. I seriously doubt our children will be hailing that lawmaking as a legislative achievement in process or result.

WRT Dodd-Frank, I am taking a wait and see approach. Banks are better capitalized, but there is still the concern that the biggest effect of the legislation is that it is so intrusive as to drive banking to non regulated entities, such as hedge funds. I have seen that trend up close , and it is not very re-assuring.
