Of the major changes under this Presidency, one was because of the SC

and one almost died in the SC -- those are, IMO, gay marriage and Obamacare. Those are the two transformational issues he accomplished. The funny thing is that I actually fully agree with one and the premise of the other (though the bill itself was clearly a turd) despite thinking Obama has been a bottom-third President.

Obama has otherwise accomplished very little legislatively - other than the stimulus which, while a disaster, achieved at least a handful of Republican votes (I think 3-4 Senators, IIRC). Yes, there have been some [fairly egregious IMO] administration power grabs, but those can essentially be undone by the next President to the extent they want to, so they're not really transformational.

As I posted below, the SC is the one apparatus in American government that has unlimited power (ironically an institution with unlimited power to "check" the government of limited power) as long as there is societal order. Obama will absolutely not nominate anyone but somebody he is very comfortable with IMO.
