I thought the GOP amended Dodd-Frank down to near insignificance.


Here's (attached) a lefty point of view on that. If you feel like this requires a response, please don't just say, "Oh Matt Taibbi, give me a break sdh, what he doesn't know about Dodd-Frank would fill enough pages to transcribe the PPACA, and he makes stuff up;" but instead tell me where he's wrong or lying.

Or cite me to something that shows what a great deal for consumers and ordinary citizen taxpayers Dodd-Frank is.

My personal belief is that all the GOP wailing and kvetching about it (in its final form) was in the nature of "Please don't throw me in that briar patch, B'rer Fox!" I mean, they'd rather have not had to deal with it but they've managed to weaken it or emasculate it in the regulation-writing phase or figured a way around the most bothersome proscriptions, haven't they?
