I think those are legit criticisms of the Biden admin, but also armchair
QBing in retrospect, based on what we know now. At the time, a wide political swath of the country was extremely concerned about not provoking Putin with systems capable of striking in Russia.
But it was clearly a mistake in retrospect, and is part of the reason Ukraine’s gains slowed. I’ve read with better air support their spring offensive would have been more successful. Lack of fighter planes helped kill it.
Just means the line Biden walked was far from perfect. Criticism is warranted. Doesn’t detract in the slightest from the half year of obstructing by an extremist republican wing of aid at such a critical inflection point. Biden’s (and all of NATO’s) mistakes are a sunk cost. The gop’s obstruction helped Putin take the best possible advantage of them. [Post edited by hoolstoptheheels at 04/28/2024 11:35AM]
