account for recidivism? Maybe people of color tend to have a longer history of crime. Not because they are more criminal by nature, but the justice system (both enforcement and judicial) is less fair to those groups. So maybe the problem is not strictly the perceived racism of Sheetz, but a much larger societal issue. Perhaps better policing AND much more Pro-Bono legal assistance provided to the community by the better Attorneys. White applicants would have had better Lawyers and thus a cleaner background check.
