Left more based on some natural/granola concerns, Right with some "you cant tell me what to do" when madates became more majority embraced (such as states as a school requirement). All of this still remains and always will because virtually all conspiracy-ish type theories appeal to slices of everyone, especially related to issues which most laypeople cannot be experts and aren't going to take the time to sincerely study the science, but the stance has really grown on some definition of the "right" - even in the face of more and more science debunking every possible danger argument related to traditional children's vaccines. It has become almost a badge of honor for a growing number on the right -- a way to show how to stand up against the "lies pushed in the name of science and government that threaten our families" and continued "Don't Tread on Me".

Also, any growth on continued stability from the left with concerns -- not accompanied by the same activist, political fervor going on at both state and federal levels that is organized and loud from today's right -- which is hard to argue has not crept more into today's right "mainstream".
