By complete coincidence we got this email yesterday
"AU Campus Safety & Security received a report of an aggravated assault potentially motivated by race bias (as defined by the federal Clery Act) that occurred outside Talon Hall early Saturday morning. This crime was reported to Campus Safety & Security by Auburn Police.
The reporting party stated that two unidentified males physically assaulted him and hit his head against a wall, after being confronted about using racial slurs toward the reporting party’s friend. The reporting party was not a member of the racial group targeted by the slurs.
Suspects have not been identified. The suspects were described as white males, both around 5’11” and 180 lbs. One male had dark brown hair wearing khaki jeans, grey shirt, cowboy boots, and a baseball hat. The second had dirty blonde hair wearing a red shirt. Police are investigating."
It's worth noting that in a state that is 27% black, fewer than 5% of Auburn students are black. In Tuscaloosa, it is more than double, at 11%.
Just a couple of anecdotes to ponder when considering why DEI programs exist. [Post edited by CMUHoo at 03/21/2024 2:04PM]
