You mention Denmark at 12 weeks.  See link below for the wide range of exceptions allowed after 12 weeks in Denmark.  They include things like the pregnant woman explaining that she feels too young or immature to care for a child.

In contrast, Republicans in the US force 10-year-old incest (and obviously rape) victims to give birth.  In some states the only exception is if the pregnant woman or girl is facing imminent death.  We are seeing it play out in front of our eyes that if doctors (and the lawyers) can't prove that the woman is definitely going to die in the next 6 hours or whatever, they won't provide her the necessary healthcare of an abortion because of the way the Republican laws are written.

It's absolutely true that most people would agree to 16 weeks with *reasonable* exceptions.  The problem is that Republicans have proven that their "exceptions" (or lack thereof) are not reasonable, and there's news story after news story highlighting that.  If the choice is between a cut-off with the "rules" in the hands of Republicans, who have proven they can't be trusted, and no codified cut-off, voters have shown they don't want the cut-off (as hools has repeatedly pointed out).
