January 2021-December 2023: “The border is secure and also it’s a good thing that millions of Third World ‘asylees’ have poured in on our watch. I can’t believe those racist Republicans want to secure our borders.”

January 2024: “We have to fix our border because it’s a crisis but there’s nothing the administration can do and please ignore that we terminated Trump’s executive orders in a grand show of virtue-signaling on literally our first day in office and also unanimously opposed the House border security bill nine months ago. Senate, please save us!”

February 2024: “We, the Democrat senate, have a bill that must be passed in two days to address this clear emergency that we’ve denied existed up until 10 minutes ago. You’re not allowed to see it, but we promise it’s bipartisan even though only one Republican has said anything nice about it. Also, we’re so super-serious about fixing the border that we’re going to complicate things even further by attaching completely unrelated tens of billions in foreign policy related spending to it.”

Now: “It’s all Trump’s fault and Biden should consider closing the border unilaterally which we said he couldn’t do five minutes ago. Also, the Republicans have no credibility on the border, so you should listen to us because we’re not clowns at all.”
