well intentioned and designed. It's certainly a vast improvement over our current situation. It would be a very solid start, addresses issues beyond what HR2 touches on, and it's designed to fund itself, so that's a plus too.

I can see where critics on the right might complain it doesn't go far enough on securing the border, or stemming the tide on future inflows, but again, a solid starting point and much better than our current situation.

I would be (pleasantly) surprised however, if folks like Hoo and the many Dems that just want to use this bill to shift the negative political attention and blaming to the GOP indeed support and vote for it if they fully read the details (link). It doesn't exactly scream overly forgiving IMHO.

I can't claim to have fully considered all the ramifications, or fully understood all the details of the bill, but I would certainly take it over the continued back and forth bitching while nothing gets done.
