Generally a good thing, but if Rs were serious about cutting spending why

do they want to build 900 miles of wall that has repeatedly been shown to be easily defeated? What a waste. Why do they want to hire more border personnel for enforcement but cut IRS enforcement? I guess they don't care about tax cheats.

This is nothing but a grandstanding measure. I'm generally in favor, other than the wall, but Rs aren't serious about a deal. Combine this with aid to Ukraine and it will work. As I said, Johnson knows this but he and all Rs would rather point to the border and blame Biden instead of actually doing something to make a deal.
