Is it 85% of illegals or 85% of asylum seekers? I'm guessing the latter

Since it seems like we allow people to hang out here for a few years until we can review cases (though they can't work for the first 90 days I believe).

Not that I agree with the policy. Not that I don't think we should be processing these people much more quickly. Not that we don't really need to think about what qualifies someone seeking asylum here.

But that is the policy. My question is whether we really have illegal immigrants any longer, or if everyone basically shows up now and claims they're seeking asylum. Probably time to close that loophole and get some sensible policy in place.

But Fox News should also provide the proper background and characterize what is happening appropriately. It would probably still piss people off enough to click a few more links.
