Second, just as with illegal immigration, the issue isn't simply about explicit dollars and cents and ROI. There are non-financial costs associated with a larger IRS, just as there are non-financial costs associated with illegal immigration.

Sort of in your defense, however, I'd also mention that I have no ax to grind on behalf of DC Republicans. They can be duplicitous just as Dems can, and they have certainly shown very little, if any, restraint on the spending side, looking good only by comparison to the even worse Democrats. The purpose of my posting here is not partisan -- it's just issue-related -- so you're "foot-stomping" comments won't get any argument from me.
