contractors would turn the design documents - the "as built" drawings, so to speak, over to the government upon completion and the original design documents would have been in the government's possession the entire time. so, if documents don't exist then there has been failure at the government level - not contractor level.

that the technology is no longer practical or possible to maintain makes sense. i think the reference to not having the design documents is a "foot in mouth" statement, imho

however, the reference that this issue is somehow related to anything "woke" going on in the military is simply bizarre
