Inflation did not tick down as he claimed, it ticked up.

Yes, the year over year is down from last month's year over year, but that clearly wasn't what he was trying to say when he followed that up with "some stuff went up, some stuff went down" to address what he meant be overall.

It was just a silly misstatement in his rush to "get" JM. And Balzie couldn't help but pile on with his usual childish attacks.

I did not say it was a bad report, quite the opposite. I take no issue with your fair and accurate assessments below. It was a decent report that hopefully signals things continue moving on in a calmer direction. But just as we shouldn't be "outraged" by a .1% increase, we shouldn't be patting Joey on the back while ignoring that path taken to get to only .1% now. It's still .1% over prices that had already increased over 17% since he took office.
