Yeah, when it came to the both sides argument back then, Trumpistan

Wasn’t merely uncomfortably silent - it defended the idea of intrepid defenders of Daughter of Confederacy statues as good people marching under Nazi and white supremacy banners to its last breath. It suddenly saw the light on kids marching for Palestinians under banners of Hamas slogans. Hmmmm. If only we could put our fingers on the difference here driving all that hypocrisy.

I have to say I’m not that interested in it. I’m not counting on Trumpistan as a constructive force against the creeping illiberalism on the left, imo centered around academia. Like the theme of the opinion piece Tuck linked, there’s a very telling silence from rights groups, shining a spotlight on these simplistic identity group generalizations. From too much of the left imo. But plenty of pushback too, which is why we’re seeing a reckoning, leading to clarifications from leaders like Jayapal.
