The facts in this case represent one of the primary issues that will

still swirl even there is some larger national/federal consensus reached around some time frame such as 15 weeks. Right now, some of the more accurate genetic testing cannot take place until around the 18 week mark. I don't think the solution should be particularly complicated -- such testing linked to an issue like trisomy 18 should be an allowed exception to any overall restrictions. The situation as described in this particular case (assuming accuracy) should not need to happen, ever.

I'd be curious to hear from those who have sounded ok with some around the 15 week time period if this seems unreasonable. I may be wrong, but I don't think a single state that has moved to shorter time periods has done this. One can do some preliminary genetic screening at a certain level a little earlier, but I believe the most accurate testing is around the 15 or even 18ish week mark.
