I differentiate between...

...most lefty citizens/voters on the one hand and those in charge on the other. As I've mentioned here before, most of my friends and many of my family members are libs, and they are all good people, in my opinion.

I have the same presumption of lefty posters on this board. This is why I don't play the personal insult game that so many on here favor. It's not only wrong, in my opinion, but it's also counter-productive. You note how you feel it's challenging to engage with someone like me whom you perceive to have certain strongly held opinions. Fair enough, but imagine being in my shoes and trying to engage with people who call me fascist, traitor, nazi, racist, MAGAt all day long, lolz.

It's the people whom lefties empower with their votes are often not good people, and that's where I direct my comments almost all the time. Those are the ones I'm referring to, for example, when I say that they are persecuting their political enemies, and, yes, I have nothing but contempt for them.

I'd also add that I don't look to a party for ideas. I vote Republican, but that's only because they are the lesser of two evils, so to speak. Neither party has the solutions, and a primary reason for that is that both parties are subject to the same conflicts of interest which disincentivize problem-solving. Actual solutions are going to come from outside the party system, IMO.
