…reasonable poster, and your posts in this thread were reasonable, so my questions were genuine.

I guess I’d say as a blanket response that when at least 40% of the population and probably closer to 50% support a policy, then that policy definitionally is not “extreme” or out of the mainstream in any way. And maybe your side referring to those policies as “extreme” or the people who hold them as “extremists” might be the problem with our national dialog rather than where you cast the blame instead.

I’d also point out that, in contrast to the questions you posed about Republican policies, if you posed the following specific questions to the American public, you’d likely get far less than 40% support:

1) Do you believe it should be legal to abort a pregnancy right up to the moment of birth?

2) Are you in favor of biological males using girls’ bathrooms in schools and competing in women’s sports?

3) Do you believe that hosting drag shows at schools is an appropriate use of tax dollars?

4) Do you believe that foreigners should be able to violate our immigration laws, live in our country and access our welfare systems paid for by your tax dollars?

5) We have spent over $100 billion dollars so far in Ukraine. Do you believe we should spend more there, or would you prefer that money be spent domestically?

I could go on, but these are five issues that have ~100% support inside the Democrat Party, but would have little support among he population. So, where is the extremism?
