The key is, that states are allowing citizens to sue for LEGAL behavior.The


TX abortion law does NOT make it illegal to have an abortion, it just makes it a civil tort. You could make wearing blue jeans a tort that carried compensation for those that reported it. The incredibly strained TX "thinking" (Here quotes ARE appropriate) is that the state is not violating anybody's rights to an abortion. The civil complainants are filing suit, the state is not. It's beyond absurd. It came before scotus months ago and they let the state implement it.

I read where perhaps CA or another state did something similar for gun sales perhaps. You knew that was inevitable. It will be interesting to see how SCOTUS can twist itself into knots to say that the TX law can stand but the CA law (if that was the state) cannot.
