That’s quite the statement coming from you, the great soapbox nuance
Distorter.
The nuances of epidemiology seem to completely escape you. Either that, or you don’t give two shits about anyone but you. Your incessant pro-Covid campaign is all about the low mortality rates for most of us, as though that’s the only factor. Fact is we’ve surpassed 800k deaths. We could get to that number with a relatively low number of infections of a disease with a much higher mortality rate. Presumably, you’d get vaxxed if any of us could get a less contagious disease, if you had a 50% or greater chance of dying upon infection.
This disease kills that many people by infecting very large numbers of people in clusters over short periods. You seem to act as though getting to 800,000 deaths via 800 million infections is somehow less tragic than getting there from 8 million infections. The nuance that seems lost on you is that the pattern leading to large numbers of deaths by large numbers of infected people, many of whom don’t even know they’re infected, demands that we all get vaxxed more than the pattern where much smaller numbers are infected but higher %s die, and pretty much all infections bring clear symptoms.
We are all very susceptible to infection. So unless you only give a shit about not being one of the 800k deaths personally, all of us getting vaxxed to protect the community in general is more critical than ever. Again, unless it’s every man for himself in your pro-Covid mindset.
