This is nonsense political misdirection. Debates about the most appropriate and effective public health measures during a pandemic of a highly contagious respiratory illness is not about attacking individual freedom. No more than speed limits on roads or bans of certain types of refrigerants, insecticides, or unleaded gas are infringements on personal freedom.

I don’t think the Trumpistani right is the only end of the political spectrum doing that, but it is doing it as prominently as any other spot on that line. That’s why this nonsense slides so easily into bullshit warnings that they are coming to take your guns and bibles, or that vaccines are really insidious govt plots to plant trackers in our veins.
