has concerns about suspending the medical student. That said, I believe 3/4 filings made by the student were rejected by the court. This is now a 1st Amendment issue only.

The student's First Amendment could have been violated in this case. However, we don't really know UVA's side of the story. That needs to play out. That said, we don't know if the student's behavior post panel meeting is relevant in a 1st Amendment case. We shall see.

The other issue is microaggression. I'm not a fan of trying to define it. It seems like a code word for not being an asshole. It's not illegal to be an asshole in this country as long as you're not committing a crime. I don't think UVA should try to legislate microagreession. That's just my opinion.

That said, let's not portray UVA professors as some sort evil vampires. We don't know what really happened yet. It's not like they were sex trafficking minors. However, from the initial filings ... the suspended student appears to have a legitimate argument. UVA has a lot of explaining to do.
