Congress has the power to subpoena the tax returns of American citizens ...
regardless of position. The law was passed a hundred years ago after the Teapot Dome Scandal. That's the law your "rule of law" President is defying. I don't have to tell him anything.
Like I said, money laundering is a serious accusation. I rather not go there unless there is more evidence. However, there is plenty of evidence of potential fraud for an investigation into Trump's taxes. Even The Supreme Court agreed. If Trump did no wrong, it would be easy to clear up with the release of his taxes ... something every President has done since Nixon.
IF Trump is found guilty, then the government has every right to do a deep dive into his personal finances. Hell, after his charity scandal, Cohen's documents supporting his accusations, Trump being named in Cohen's indictment, the FEC violations ... the least that should be released is his tax returns.
