Right so listen to what these protesters are saying. If you have a society
that is unjust, people will only put up with it for so long. Sometimes there is unrest and violence associated with those changes, from the Boston Tea Party, to the Civil War, to organized labor violence in the early 1900's, to the Civil Rights movement and protests of the Vietnam war. Now we are on the cusp of some serious issues that have been building for years. The hollowing out of the middle class and resulting wealth disparity, the decades long discriminations of people of color, the failure of our educational systems, the lack of quality healthcare for everyone, a governmental system that favors the wealthy overwhelmingly, and the resentments fomented by demographic change. I haven't even mentioned the coming climate crisis that will make all of this pale in comparison. Kenosha is only a symptom.
We need to work on solutions to these problems, for real. No other country has had the capacity to reinvent itself like this one. We have the ability to do that now and one of the turning points is November. Trying to recover past glories, which really weren't that glorious to begin with, is fool's gold.
