You really brought your idiot A-game today, didn't you? Let me repeat,
very slowly for you:
"only a real moron would give a new president credit for stock market gains or losses that occurred prior to him even being in office."
True statement. The fact that you insist Trump somehow caused the stock market to rise before he even took the oath of office just proves that you are, in fact, a real moron.
But what that statement does NOT say is that "Obama deserves all the credit for the Nov 16-Jan rise."
He doesn't, because again -- anyone who is not a pea-brained partisan dumbass agrees that who is president on a given day has very little effect on the stock market's gains or losses. Some of Obama's policies (stimulus, industry bailouts, regulatory reform, spending initiatives, etc.) helped prevent a depression and foster healthy growth; some of the policies that our government took that werent' really his (QE by the Fed) helped put the markets on an upward trend; etc. but for the most part the economy rebounded and performed well. And yes, there was an uptick after the election, which tends to happen every time there's an election and the market (which is speculative) has some degree of certainty. I'll even go as far as to say the market speculating and anticipating tax cuts and regulatory rollbacks fueled some extra speculation. But that has nothing to do with anything Trump did as president, nor is it at all contrary to what I said.
You really should just go sit in the corner for the rest of the day. I'm about out of respect for your cognitive abilities at this point.
