I honestly think you are incorrect here on all counts.
Let's remember - Alex Jones was not banned from some platforms for his political views. Not at all. He was banned for his statements about the parents of the victims of one of the most gut wrenching mass shootings any of us have ever seen, once the lawsuits started rolling in, the headline risk amped up, and the spotlight happened to be focusing in on social media more and more at the same time. Yes, all those things combined, because the business models of these platforms is harmed by actions like this - it isn't something they want to do (and Twitter sees it differently, as an oppty to differentiate I think).
You know how I think HooTV and just about every other poster here would react to a banning by facebook of a left leaning kook who was being sued for calling Sandy Hook parents crisis actors? Exactly, 100%, the same way they are responding to Alex Jones.
