Yeah. I agree. My complaint is with the suggestion by this UN

committee that there is any balancing out required. As I understand it, descendants of American slaves have benefited from medical advances like the polio vaccine as well - quite often the handiwork for white folks, and in some cases I'm sure, descendants of former slave owners. What's the offset to the reparations they are recommending? The scrutiny that the math would undergo makes me shudder almost as much as the concept itself.

By the way, my family was not even in this country during the slavery era. They were being persecuted in Eastern Europe at the time. Can I be exempted from the reparations? In fact, why am I not a recipient? At a minimum I demand a credit on my tax bill in the year the reparations are paid!

To be clear, I don't favor European reparations to former colonies any more than I favor this stupid committee's proposals.

What I favor is firing the committee and redeploying the resources they will waste in the future in a way that might actually produce some good.
