What's this?

That grossly misses the point. Our media is 100% ratings-driven and has

become a vehicle for 24-hour entertainment, not information. And real news outlets have to compete with bloggers who don't give a rat's ass about fact-checking as well as sensationalist outlets like Faux News that are just designed to drum up controversy and anger (but smart enough to do so in a manner where they aren't technically "lying") because they know it keeps their audience glued to the TV.

Real, ethical journalism can't compete and the race to the bottom has been swift. Not because of "government" manipulating the press. If anything the press can manipulate the government by tying it up in false scandals and narratives.

I think it's safe to say the British get better news from BBC than we do from any of our sources.
