Per the piece, WV had more Dem primary voters in '08 than Dem GE voters


It was the only state where that happened.

Isn't it true that registered Independents can vote in either primary but registered Republicans can't vote in the Democrat primary?

If that's the case, and given that most voters in WV are registered Democrat but vote GOP in national elections, I suppose that would help explain why Sanders had so much support from "conservatives." Still, it's hard not to see a rebellion against the ruling class in that vote, imho.
