It's funny

Back in the fall, when Trump was making noises about running as an independent, the GOP was making rules requiring candidates to agree in advance to support the party's eventual nominee. I think the rules say that any candidate who says he won't unconditionally support the party's nominee forfeits his delegates at the convention, for example. In Virginia the party passed a rule requiring anyone who voted in the primary to sign a loyalty oath, promising to support the eventual nominee (after an outcry they rescinded this).

All this was done to keep Trump and Trump supporters in line. No one back then imagined that he would actually be the nominee. It's funny to see all the same establishment chiefs now balking at supporting Trump, the candidate their party has chosen.

The way Trump hijacked the party, and spending very little money to do it, is truly amazing. It would be amusing, if there wasn't so much at stake.
