I still would not have voted GOP back then. I was not a fan of Reagan or

Bush Sr. But here is the thing; there used to be on certain subjects, areas where the D's and R's could agree on approaches in the country's best interests. So while I didn't buy into that stupid Laffer curve approach to taxation, and I think you started seeing more influence from corporate interests during the Reagan/Bush years that have continued to greater effect today, there at least was the feeling that generally they wanted to do the right thing. My disagreements were with policy only.

I'm not pretending that I liked the GOP then. I'm not fully enamored with the Democrats now. But I tend to agree with Bill Maher on this; the Democrats are a corporate party and the GOP is straight-up bat shit crazy.
