McConnell was an idiot for saying what he said IMO. Played right into Obama and lefties hands by making it too easy to paint them as obstructionists of anything Obama, rather than obstructionists of the principle put forth. He should've kept his mouth shut until Obama actually put someone forward, but I guess he assumes we're stupid enough to fall for it all being about a nomination in an election year is unprecedented. So F'in what, when a nominee is put up, refuse to let it go forward, have a brutal contentious hearing, or vote them down (or up) and take the consequences, good and bad, that come from doing your job.

Now they look foolish having to backpeddle. The ball is in Obama's court. It's his job to put forward someone that stands a chance of getting confirmed by a GOP Senate, no different than POTUS' before him. He can choose to go political, or he can choose to do his part in getting something done. Totally his choice. Not that he and the rest of the lefties will portray it that way when (imo) he opts to go political, because that's how he rolls.
