Makes no difference what happens on the soapbox, but I’ll just say this:

We need leadership across the country which is realistic about our system of govt (lots of checks and balances designed to keep any single person or entity from having much power), the composition of the country (extremely diverse), and which therefore is focused on solutions, not ideology. Strict, inflexible devotion to ideology gets us nowhere. Or worse, moves us backwards.
Unfortunately our politics reward ideological devotion and punish pragmatism.
