He came up with this arcane approach to passing these bills when he could have just put the Senate bill on the floor or allowed Republicans to sign the discharge petition. This should have been done months ago. I do worry that this strange approach to appeasing the crazies is going to wind up blowing up in everyone's face. Or he's playing 4D chess and wants it to fail while being seen to be trying to avoid that outcome.

On the whole, I agree with everything you said here. But he at least said the right thing for the first time. I'll be curious to hear what the anti-Ukraine crowd on here thinks when presented with this information from a voice they in theory should trust.
